A project in the making. (Leaf Wreath)

Cardboard Safari on Etsy.com is a great little shop with some pretty amazing animal cutouts, but it was this wreath that caught my eye.  I'm thinking this might make for a cool art project.

I'm thinking this wreath, backed by this type of wallpaper or fabric...

Kind of an updated, version of this...

I might have to go look for a frame today.  I think it will be a good play off the brown and gold stuff I've got going on with all the little white accessories in the great room.  I'll let you know if I make it happen!

Ummm, okay....

I'm not sure where I first came across this, but for some reason I found the pic saved to my drive.  Might not be something you trot out to impress a date, but I can think of some five year olds that might think this was the coolest thing...ever.

Flight Attendents, please secure the cabin.

I've spent the last 48 hours struggling to come up with a first post for this blog.  Although I'm pretty clear about what I want to accomplish and I have a back log of a bunch of stuff to get me started, I just feel like the first post is the most important.  Like it will set the tone for everything to come.
So here I sit, clicking away in search for that "perfect" thing.  The one item, the one person, that one link, that one quote, that "whatever" that will define what's to come...and then, it finally hit me.  Can't happen...because that's not how I operate.
I like lots of things...all kinds of things.  Having diversity and choices is what I thrive on.  I like to find coolness, sometimes in the things people over look.  I laugh at some jokes some may think are unfunny and  find beauty in the grotesque. I like to give things a chance and to share ideas.  I like knowing. Most of all, I like how I feel when my brain is working this way...and, I must confess, it hasn't been doing much of that lately.
I'm at my best when I'm in "discovery mode" -- when I'm out there finding those "its" that move me.  My "its" include a mosaic fish coffee table, my queue on Netflix, a collection of cover songs, a book with notes in the margin, and my secret baked beans recipe. None of these things alone are the "be all, end all"  and all of them together, aren't nearly enough.  I need more.  I seek more.   Mostly because, I don't want my quest for "it" to end.
This blog is simply my need to become inspired again and maybe it will help direct me to what's next on my journey.  It's also a place where I can just share some of the neat stuff I come across, because that's what I enjoy most.

So, buckle your seat belts and please put your tray tables in the upright position.....here we go.
